The excess is the amount you would have to pay if something went wrong.
Thus...
You would have to pay the damage excess if the car's body was damaged. The collision damage waiver would pay the remainder*.
You would have to pay the theft excess if the automobile gets stolen and the Theft Protection would cover the rest.
NOTE: This coverage is applicable only if you abide by the conditions of the rental agreement.
1. Included with the vehicle when you reserve it, or
3. Purchased at the rental desk straight from the corporation.
Details are available in your rental agreement's "Deposits, excess, and coverage" section. You can also purchase additional coverage at the rental desk or when you make your automobile reservation.
